Hi guys I would like to move to another state and may be buy a house out there. help please?

Hi guys my husband, daughter and I are currently living in NY. Making just enough to live a decent life I just graduated w/ an accounting deegree and my husband is a personal banker, jointly we make about $85,000.00 gross. However this is not enough to pay the bills and save out here. I would like to get ideas on what places you might know from personal experience are inexpensive and maybe not too far from a city life. And ofcourse getting a job is not too difficult. I appreciate all advice. Thank You.
