Need to brainstorm about a problem with my cat and his water bowl.?

Rescued Mayhem about 6 months ago. He is 2 years old and doing very well, except he pulls his water bowl all around and slops water all over the place. He walks through the water and then his litter box. I end up with a very sloppy wet, litter mess all over the laundry room. I have tried the large automatic waterers thinking it would be too heavy to move, and he knocks it over. I tried placing a brick in the water bowl and he still can drag it around. Any ideas?
